Blue Victoria was honored to be invited to attend the official launch of a new drone monitoring system organized by the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. The event marked an important step toward strengthening fisheries management and environmental monitoring through the use of modern technology. The launch was officiated by the Deputy Minister, Alexander Mnyeti, who emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing challenges such as illegal fishing, habitat degradation, and unsustainable resource use in the country’s water bodies, including Lake Victoria. The introduction of drone technology is expected to enhance surveillance, data collection, and enforcement efforts across the fisheries sector.
Blue Victoria recognizes the value of such technological advancements in supporting sustainable fisheries and conservation. As an organization actively working on environmental monitoring and community-based conservation, we look forward to continued collaboration with government and stakeholders to leverage technology for protecting freshwater ecosystems and improving livelihoods.
